I think I'm right in saying I could walk into any well-stocked bookshop in the UK and buy a copy of MK with no probs.
I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly. I've read a couple of Aleister Crowley's books, and The Bible, and I'm neither a Satanist nor a Christian.

Not my cover as mine is a hardback 1950 edition. This is volume three of a six volume set. Covers 1941 when England was still pretty much going it alone against Italy and Germany. Churchill was a man I greatly admire, and the output of his memoirs I will sadly never complete. These WWII books are just a fraction. A lot of this is memos back and forth between him and field commanders, cabinet members and heads of state. Those are interesting but not as much as when he is just letting the pen flow with his feelings and opinions. They had already been at it for over a year when this volume begins and it really gets interesting once Russia is invaded. Britian finally has an allie with skin in the game. This period is covered quite extensively. Japan is busy with its problems with China up until almost the end of the book, when of course Pearl Harbor is attacked. The last portion deals with Churchills lengthy visit to the states after the bombing, where he and Roosevelt lay out their plans to end the madness, thus the title.

i just finished reading the first twilight-book ... now i will start with the second
i don`t know much about it, haven`t seen the movies so i am really excited

Not very good. But a good reason for that. This was his last novel, and it was in the works at the time of his death. Chapter 6 was as far as it got, and no one knows how many chapters it would have been. There were outline notes that were found detailing how the story would unfold. From those it sounds like it would have become much more interesting than it was with what was published. The story of a Hollywood producer with a lot of industry goings on that go with the territory. He falls in love with some chick that reminds him of his deceased wife. That's about it for what's there. The notes have a murder and a plane crash rounding out the story. But we never got there. The good thing about a story with no ending is you can make up your own. I ended this one by thinking they lived happily ever after. I like those kind.

Might have been interesting to see how it went out.. I generally don't like making up my own ending, because that ends with me writing a whole lot of useless stuff about it that I'm not so impressed of anyway
I'm currently on The prophet by Kahlil Gibran, pretty cool so far.
