Linkin Park. One of the biggest bands out there in the international music scene today. They are the rulers of the alternative genre.
Their latest release "Minutes to Midnight" strayed away from the nu-metal sound, though remaining distinctly alternative.
Rock on LP!!!

I have noticed the emergence of DJ's in alternative in recent years. Linkin park have gone this way. Just wondered what you thought about this? To explore other market areas perhaps? Or a different sound?

well they used to be NU metal but they are a lot more alternative rock now. Like snow patrol or jimmy eat world, i do think though some of their earlier stuff had elements of alternative rock like 2numb" or "crawling"

Really loved Hybrid Theory - nice and uneven and the punk side of alternative. I'm also not adverse to some rap when it manages to sound natural and adds to the song. Also Chester's voice is phenomenal
I've become progressively less interested in the next two albums (I'm not counting the remix stuff!)
I still think they're pretty good but a lot more mainstream - I think what they've done is a natural progression for them - concentrate on the songwriting.
But the moment I saw them all in black leather on the video, I was reaching for the remote control - seemed so rock start pretentious!

I have heard the new stuff, not right, not Linkin Park. I enjoy the "Hyrbid" phase that the went through. My fave album by the LP.

I liked them a lot as a child, but I haven't listened to them in years. Not a fan anymore.

I'm probably alone here but think their new album is their best.
Hybrid Theory was pretty good IMO, but as for Metora it's kind of hard to say the same.
