not a bad suspense horror movie
in fact. more than passable for something King wrote

trailer for this UK made thriller/crime movie about how the Police finally convicted the infamous Kray Twins in the late 1960s,
i believe "legend" (2015) is the best movie about Ronnie and Reggie Kray but ive yet to see it.

as a bit of a personal connection to this my Dad's uncle used to be a boxer in the late 1950s with the twins in the East End and was eventually employed by them as a 'rent/protection collector" and my Dad's mum (my grandmother) used to own a pub in Tottenham that the Krays used to visit, she managed to go to both funeral services for them before she died in 2001.
my Dad only tells me things that were passed down to him by family or things he overheard (no criminal activities from him)

Lynne and myself went to the cinema this evening to watch this, the sixth installment in the "final destination" horror franchise
we didnt expect it too be great and although it wasnt great it was passable (if not plausable).
these sorts of movies are good on the 'big screen' for the effects alone.
not as good as the original movie which was actually quite clever in its storyline but certainlt better than the last couple in ther series.

I went to the cinema to this one on my own as Lynne does not like monster or sci-fi movies
the fourth in the Jurassic World movies, seventh overall int he franchise
plot revolves around a group of big-pharma baddies entering the no-go zone around the equator to extract Dino-DNA
a couple of baddies develop a conscience, the annoying baddies we grow to dislike get eaten
survivors sail off back to civilisation... (same basic plot, different characters LOL)
overall, the special effects were good and worked well on the "big screen"
fairly forgettable as far as a movie goes though but...
Scarlett Johansson is always worth looking at.

Not currently watching, as in right now, but very recently watched a cool little doccie on Kansas. Super unpretentious blokes. It was good. Kerry Livgren was definitely channeling something magical and miraculous! Hence the title - also a song title. I feel motivated to dust off some of my ancient albums now!

a remake of Stephen King's classic vampire story,
i have seen both miniseries' that have been made over the years and both sucked
it still had the corny Stephen King style effects but it remained fairly enjoyable without filler scenes

basic plot:
Black Ops Govt agency kidnaps children who have high levels of TP (telepathy) and TK (telekinesis).
the Govt agency nurtures these powers to remotely assassinate military and civilian targets across the world.
when the TP's and TK's minds are burnt out from overuse they are eradicated,
theres bad guys who develop a conscious and want the world to know the truth
there are good guys who want to know what happens at the Top secret "institute"
and theres a group of kids at The Institute who want to 'bring it down'

my thoughts:
i thought it stayed true to the novel overall which is always good
but as usual, movies/mini-series are rarely as good as the novels they are adapted from
and now it has been renewed for a second season even though the series finished as per the ending of the novel

watched as it was a new release on Netflix and because Mel Gibson produced it (expecting it to be a thriller), it was more of a comedy-thriller in places which i wasnt expecting (should have watched the trailer first), and if i did it might have been better than it was.
