JEFF BUCKLEY "grace" cd/vinyl 1994
a revisit
his one and only official release prior to his accidental death
although it is a very good album album i cant help but wonder if it would be revered as much had he lived?
its one of those unanswerable questions i guess
anyway, as i said it is a very good album, standout track is his angelic cover of Leonard Cohen's "hallelujah"
album would rank 2.2-ish from me which means...
I LIKE THIS ALBUM

PUBLIC IMAGE Ltd "the greatest hits, so far" cd, 1990
a revisit
fourteen tracks, some of them fit firmly in the "drum and bass" genre, only twenty years before it gained popularity
not saying theyre all good, just pointing out that these guys were years ahead of the game in a lot of ways
disliking half of them because theyre remix versions of the original singles
only loving a couple off this one and liking five giving a score of 1.6 which means
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

B-52's "time capsule: songs for a future generation" cd, 1998
a revisit
an eighteen track compilation
their older material is far superior to their latter material but still a good album
album would rank around 2.3-ish which means

COLDPLAY "X&Y" cd 2005
a revisit
their third of ten, i own the first four plus ""everyday life" from 2019,
only own that one from 2019 because it was double vinyl and in a discount bin for $10 when retail price was $90 and i figured i might like enough of it for $10....i was wrong LOL
i used to really like this album, remembered it ranking about 2.3 last time i posted it
this time i found there were only two tracks i really liked on it, the first two singles ("fix you" and "speed of sound")
the rest of the tracks i really did not care for at all.
album has taken a tumble in my estimations and ranks a pitiful 1.4 which means...
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

a revisit
their tenth studio album

when i streamed this when it was released and i purchased it i really loved it
now after a decade i do not care for it at all
bland blah blah music IMO
shame because i love the cover art

THE TING TINGS "sounds from nowhereville" cd,2012.
a revisit
UK alt-pop group
second album of i dont know LOL
a good eclectic collection of pop, dance, reggae tinged tunes and rap, (rap is in the Blondie 'rapture' style)
female singer has a bit of a Gwen Stefani tone in her vocals
album rated at 2.0 last time i posted it, i think that is still about where it should be

PAUL WELLER "saturns pattern" cd/vinyl 2015
a revisit
Weller's twelfth solo album (24th overall)
a deliberate pick as opposed to my usual random picks
psych-rock, alt rock is what the experts call it,
i call it crap-rock
most of the songs on here had me tapping my feet to the beat but i didnt like the actual songs
they sounded forced and not natural in the way they came across
underwhelming is an understatement...
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM
best of a bad bunch

i couldnt pick the singles until i checked Wiki
and favourite track wasnt even one of them, all up i'll give it a 1.7 on a first up listen

NIRVANA "nevermind" cd 1991
a revisit

i guess Grunge was that generation's Punk Scene
only two or maybe three tracks i actually like here which means

MY MORNING JACKET "sweatbees" cd 2003
a small gift from Lynne
she knows i am a big fan and saw i didnt have this in my collection
a compilation of tracks from a couple of "ep" releases
the UK version only has five tracks, the aussie version has nine, i have the aussie version here
to be fair i have only listened to this on one occasion and MMJ music generally grows over time especially the early material
i just dont "dig it" right now, maybe in the future i will but at this stage
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM
