DAVID BOWIE "the buddha of suburbia" cd, 1993
a soundtrack album to a movie/stage show that never eventuated...
Bowie himself did little to promote it and it disappeared into the abyss as fast as it was released...
ten tracks, three of which are instrumentals, several are almost dance orientated and the rest have a jazz fusion sound...
album is pretty good but a bit disjointed musically with those different styles...
often regarded by musical experts and reviewers as "the lost/forgotten Bowie album"
well worth a listen if you get the chance via a streaming service...
I LIKE THIS ALBUM

MANFRED MANN "up the junction" OST cd, 1968
a soundtrack to a movie of the same name which starred a very young Dennis Waterman...
classed as their fourth official studio album also...
psychedelic rock, baroque pop, jazz fusion album...
several instrumentals on this fourteen track album but excellent nonetheless IMO...
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

Revisited this movie last night. Bloody brilliant.
Two tracks from the movie;

Hard to believe the main vocalist, Andrew Strong, was only 16 at the time.

ELVIS PRESLEY "double trouble" cd/vinyl 1967
a revisit
his fifteenth movie soundtrack album but his twenty-fourth movie
typical of Presley's soundtrack albums,
a couple of slow love songs, a break up song or two, a couple of pop songs, a rocker and several tunes that have no life outside of the scene they are performed in.
album does contain one of his worst ever in Old MacDonald with new lyrics which are more cringeworthy that the children's song.
feel free to listen to it here:
Old MacDonald-Elvis Presley
the majority of the songs arent bad, but only a few (three or four) that are half decent Presley songs
overall album would score 1.7 which means
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
