DEXTER: original sin
on Paramount
a prequel to Dexter.
only one episode ATM as they are released weekly (i hate that, i wanna binge a series and not wait for episodes!!)
first episode last night
had myself and Lynne hooked immediately
the characters portray the young Dex, Deb, Masuka, Batista and Harry Morgan to a tee
looking forward to the remainder of the season which looks like a 10 episode run if Wiki is to be believed.
worth watching if you were a fan of Dexter previously

on Netflix
movie follows the story of a young TSA agent being blackmailed to allow a nerve agent to pass checking and board a flight on chrstmas Eve.
stars Jason Bateman, and primarily watched it for him
ended up being a half decent movie, one of those 'cat and mouse' types.

on either Netlfix or Prime (i cant remember LOL)
Beekeepers are an above top secret Black Ops' department and their prime objective is to 'protect the hive' ('hive' being US Govt)
aanyway, this retired Beekeeper actually becomes a bee keeper and resides on the farm of an elderly lady.
when the elderly lady is scammed of her life savings via a phishing scam and kills herself over it, 'the bee keeper' decides to come out of retirement and exact revenge on those responsible.
movie is a pretty cool action movie starrinf Jason Statham, and Jeremy Irons

BETTER MAN
at the cinema with Lynne followed by an early dinner at a Thai Restaurant
biopic:
detailing the life of UK pop singer Robbie Williams from early childhood through to the early 2000's including his time in boy-band Take That.
a pretty warts and all showing of sex, drugs, insecurities and frailties.
i knew he had a fondness for the old singers (Sinatra, Deano and Sammy Davis Jr) but never realised they formed a huge part of his musical DNA.
the reason he is portrayed as a CGI primate in the movie is because, as he says towards the end of the movie, "when you become famous you cease to develop as a person and remain the age you were when fame hit", in Williams case that age was 15, therefore he feels like a primate in a lot of ways ie: underdeveloped as a human.
a pretty solid movie in our opinions

me too MH.
Act 2 summed up modern music perfectly,
the industry is dying.
what i did last year was go to the official websites of the artists and purchase directly from there hoping the artists make a big more money from cutting out the middle man, but then i think, by cutting out the retailer i am not putting their livelihoods in jeopardy so its a double edged sword and i see no way around it in this day and age.

Too true. One thing I would add is that the actual structure of 'popular' music is too formulaic. No-one takes chances on trying to come up with something that is different from the normal structure. I was listening to Golden Earring's 'Moontan' album this last week and they threw all the rules out the window. They were highly creative with their compositions on this album and came up with unique sequences and unusual arrangements - even throwing in audio clips of Marilyn Monroe's voice onto one of their tracks - the result - their best selling album. Floyd did the same with DSOTM - the result - one of the biggest selling albums of all time. People seem to be stuck in the verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/verse/chorus repeat ad nauseum thing. Another thing I have noticed with 'popular' music is the lack of original lyrics and a 'hook' chorus that is repeated over and over relentlessly because they can't seem to think up anything new to add to the track. All of that points to a complete lack of creativity and general laziness. The technology is dumbing down the musicians. The 'woke' generation is in actual fact, fast asleep at the wheel.
