Hi guys – sorry for the sporadic visits. Silly season is upon us, AND we have the prince of darkness to contend with as well. Stage 6 load shedding announced today. That’s two stages from blowing out the candles and kissing everything goodbye. Joy to the World!
Apparently, it’s not a whole lot better in some European countries – anything to console ourselves!! LOL! Tonight, I bottled chutney in the dark - no idea what it will look like in the light of day!

My once-a-year foray into jam and chutney making - apricots, specifically - give it all away as gifts. Thank goodness for a gas hob.
And now, by the time the lights come back on, it will be time for bed. It's all a bit much. Anyway – if I’m a absent from MD, it’s not because I want to be, it's because fitting things in, in increasingly lengthy periods of no power and tired batteries, is exhausting and a complete pain in the derrière.
We are having a Switching on of the Christmas Lights event here on Sunday, on our town square, which I help organise – now we have to find a generator and make contingencies all over the place. The hugely popular SA Navy Band is entertaining us and they are fab – looking forward to a good, festive community event! Will be back properly once it's all done. Cheers!!
