SNOWY WHITE ~ Driving On The 44
Snowy White might be a mean guitarist but seriously – he needs to stay far faaaar away from a microphone. What the actual bleep is it with these guys? Thinking of a few others here as well - they’ve been making credible music their whole lives, and now, to cap it all off, decide to send out an album that is just dire, vocally. Do they lose their ability to discern?? I dunno. It’s a bit sad – a volume of what sounds like personal life lessons and reflections dispensed in a sort of end-of-the-road voice. Couldn’t sit through it all – too depressing.
Not all older artists sound terrible - some even get better, and some choose not to take the chance of possibly sullying their record (pardon the pun!). Oh well - in the grand scheme of the universe, I guess people should get to do whatever makes them happy, in themselves and for their lifetimes, with impunity – it’s their choice after all (within reason, of course – another conversation entirely!), and everyone else’s opinions of what they do are in reality unimportant and of very little significance, however, that does seem to be what keeps us ticking over! LOL! Unless one is Buddhist – maybe. Anyway – in danger of going down a rabbit hole and will stop now.
Avoid, is my pronouncement on this one. Save for the first track which is instrumental …
