I read the news today, oh boy!
seems veteran actor Sir Michael Caine is retiring from his craft at 88.
https://www.msn.com/en-au/entertainment/...d=msedgntp

to be honest i have never been a fan of Caine as an actor, always thought of his as a bit one dimensional but he did/does have a prescence on the big and small screen for sure and has been in some totally iconic films for sure

(LOL, just relaised this post sounds more like a Eulogy than commentary on retirement !! )

saw it when it came out...
it seemed like a loose remake of Charles Bronson's "death wish" to me
but a good movie nonetheless

In the news today - Facebook is developing the 'MetaVerse' a persistent, augmented reality version of the Internet. I don't know much about it but it seems like FB is trying to lure us into a constant virtual world. My gut instinct is that humans are retreating further and further into a made-up reality because, it would appear, they can't seem to deal with the actual reality of day to day existence. I smell trouble...

....and the whole Covid lockdown scenarios have added fuel to that fire for sure.

Like all animal forms and species, humans are basically social animals. They need to interact with others. Apparently, because of lockdown, rates of depression and other assorted mental health issues have skyrocketed over the last year. 'Mental Health' is the new buzzword in the corporate world too. So now people are inventing things that are wrong with them. Have you noticed how 'bi-polar' disorder (a euphemism for being badly behaved and blaming it on something else) has now slipped from the top of the charts and has been replaced by 'mental health' issues. The human race is basically neurotic and all because social media says you must be. In other words, in the future, if you are a normal well-adjusted human being then there must be something wrong with you. The fiasco continues. Wait for the next thrilling episode...

Oh yes and if you are white & male and believe in two basic genders you are the root of all the worlds problems. I am royally screwed indeed!

so it appears that American comedian Dave Chappelle has upset the LGB-Alphabet community for telling Trans jokes in his new Netflix show entitled "the closer".
seems Netflix staff have been picketing their own HQ with members ot he alphabet community in protest.

Chappelle has probably added more fuel to the fire with his apology roughly saying:
"im sorry if i have offended people, that was not my intent and Et Cetera, Et Cetera all the things i am supposed to say"
^^
ive never been a fan of his humour but...thats the funniest thing ive ever heard him say!
