Starry Night Over The Rhone by Vincent Van Gogh.
im a huge fan of Vincent's works but this is my favourite.
the Van Gogh Museum is a must go place when in Amsterdam (along with the cafes, but theyre another story for another day LOL)

im a huge fan of The Impressionist painters and their works of art but i thought i would this post one: The Lady Of Shalott by John Waterhouse,
its not an Impressionist painting as you can see but a copy is hanging on the wall in my music library, its my favourite painting of all time, not sure what attracted me to it around 1984, think it might be the expression on her face which could mean a thousand things depending on what your mood is.
Paul Weller later wrote a song (Wings Of Speed in 1995) based upon the painting.

I went to the Vincent Van Gough museum when I was in Amsterdam the first time. The bottom floor of the museum is dedicated to unknown artists. When I first entered there was a huge picture on the far wall of a girl lying in the meadow with her hair blowing in the wind. I thought it was a photograph at first. It was only when I got up close that I realised it was a painting. Unbelievable work. My favourite Van Gough piece is a small painting of a spinning wheel in the moonlight. Also got to visit the coffee shops. Had a stroll around the red light district. Most of the ladies in the windows are men by the way. The police brochure tells you this. Also got to see Ziggy Marley in concert in an old abandoned church. There were so many people smoking joints the whole place was as high as a kite. Brilliant performance. I was singing 'Africa Unite' all the way back on the tram to the hotel,  pleasantly stoned. The Euro 2000 tournament was on at the same time and the place was packed with tourists . Also went to an open-air festival at the Hague. It was reported that half a million people visited the concert over the weekend. All sorts of music being played. A memorable trip indeed.

back to Escher Jerome:
i had a book of his works many moons ago
was a hardcover,
probably 12" high by 8" wide and a good 1 1/2" thick from memory
one picture to a page, excellent detail...
i let someone borrow it and unlike a boomerang it didnt come back, guessing it was a stick.

These are intriguing - wouldn't call them favourite works of art, but nonetheless - fascinating what people come up with ...

My most favorite work of art first got started around August 20, of 1958. Around nine months later on May 20, 1959, the creation was finally born. Who do I hold responsible for it? The father, the son, and the Holy Spirit, AKA Three Musketeers. To me, if who they came up with back then after putting their heads together is the best that they could think of, I will NEVER be able to thank them enough. What I have here for y'all is a picture of their masterpiece.

A controversial new statue unveiled recently. To me it's just a small nude on a big silver blob. 143,000 GBP plus. Ridiculous what passes for art these days.

Georgia O'Keefe's landscapes, particularly. She was so connected to her surroundings. 



 


She also painted this - "Blue and Green Music" - from Wiki "The painting uses colors that are both subtle and bold in order to capture the variance of tones that one would find in music.
