Not a patch on Vienna IMHO. The lead track from Rage in Eden ...

a lot of people forget that Midge Ure actually co-wrote Band Aid's "do they know its Christmas?" and organised the whole LiveAid thing.
shame he was media shy and Bob Geldof took all the credit for it being the vocal spokesman for world hunger.
superb live version of Vienna at Live Aid:

I used to own five albums of theirs on vinyl, not sure what happened to them because I don't have them now.
instead all I own is a compilation on cassette and cd.

^Sounded a bit weird and slowed up in places?? But I get it - great rendition - helluva voice. Thanks!

I have his solo album
Answers To Nothing.
Colin Masson has been working on a few things while in C19 world. From his YouTube precis for one of the tracks
"..... my series in which I am promoting the selection of music for use in role-playing video games these pieces I am hoping eventually to put up on the Unity Asset Store and possibly the unreal Engine marketplace. It is also a way of keeping myself occupied while in lockdown, so the animations tend to be a little more elaborate than they need to be."
Here's "The Navigator" ....
Others are "The High Passes" -

I have one of Colin's albums in the 'to play' pile for this upcoming week...great artist!
of Midge Ure, I have the same album as you Ruby, love "dear God", superb song IMO.
also have his "if I was" single on 7".
as a footnote,
im in the process of making a list of what I consider to be the best singles of the 1980s,
I can categorically say that Vienna will be on it.

^Sure it'll be an interesting list!! Not my favourite decade in music, but that said, I may end up eating my words ... again.
One of the songs that's been rattling around in my empty shell of a brain is Jim Croce's " ...steadily depressin' low down mind messin' working at the carwash blues ...", perhaps for obvious reasons - substitute carwash for lockdown, lol! Funny how these things pop up ... anyway - it's on the album I just posted but I prefer to go with "Lover's Cross" ...

Very trippy album, not unexpectedly! David Crosby's on this one - guitar and co-vocals ...

Such a good album - not sure what to pick. Two songs were written by Richard Farina, both of which I like - Sandy Denny's on here, Richard Thompson ... hmmm - ok "Reno Nevada" by Farina -
