to be honest Jerome, ive never heard a Uriah Heep album, cant recall ever hearing them at all but I know of them...
is there an album of theirs that you think I should listen to to get an idea about them, or an album of theirs you think I would like?

I would recommend 'Demons and Wizards'. Some great tracks on that. 'Look At Yourself' would be a close second for me. Not sure whether you would like them or not but those would be my favourites.

ok,
Demons And Wizards would get a pass mark from me for a first up listen Jerome.
a couple of tracks I wasn't keen on, but most were pretty good...
loved the opening track "the wizard" which I thought was brilliant.

No, they are predominantly 'old-school' rock. A little of the heavy side at times. Their classic period was in the 70's but they do have some good albums released later in their career. I think there is a Heep acoustic album, but it just does not work for me. They used a lot of 'fantasy' imagery in their lyrics (demons, wizards, fairies and magicians kind of thing). They also had a couple of more commercial tracks like this one which I quite like - https://youtu.be/uTD2YICU1DY
Incidentally, that opening to The Wizard is one of the most perfectly recorded acoustic guitars I have ever heard - whoever the engineer was, he got it 100% right. Obviously all analogue - no digital stuff in those days. https://youtu.be/YPZfFEW2G9A

thanks Jerome...Lady In Black, brilliant IMO, noticed Ian Anderson 'features' on it.
like I said, I liked the Demons album, will investigate them further, will start with their early material and work foreward.

Their album 'Salisbury' from 1971 is also worth listening to. It was a pretty popular album at that time!
