STEREOPHONICS "word gets around" cd, 1997

career stats:
studio albums..........9
singles..................39

this album..................#6 UK...#71 AU
singles:
"looks like chaplin"...............no chart entry
"local boy in the photograph"...#51 UK
"more lie in a tramps vest"......#33 UK
"a thousand trees"......,...........#22 UK
"traffic".................................#20 UK

Welsh rock/alt rock band...
their debut album....
one of only three not to peak at #1 on the UK charts...
love the vocals of Kelly Jones (yes, Kelly is a male!)...
one of the best rock bands of the last twenty years IMO...
own several of their album plus a Jones solo album...
album would score a borderline love from me coming in at 2.3
so yeah, great rock band, well worth a listen if you haven't already done so...

from the album, my favourite track:

"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.

DEL AMITRI "change everything" cd, 1992:

career stats:
studio albums..............6
singles.......................19

this album....................#2 UK...#24 AU...#178 US
singles:
"always the last to know"........#13 UK...#39 AU...#30 US
"be my downfall"...................#30 UK...#86 AU
"just like a man"....................#25 UK...#73 AU
"when you were young"..........#20 UK

Scottish alt rock band...
third album...
used to own the second one also, Waking Hours, but ive lost that over time...
not a bad album, continues on the same semi-acoustic rock of that previous one...
no "kiss this thing goodbye" or "nothing ever happens" on this one but still reasonably good...
only one track I love on here, a couple I don't like and nine I do like, overall score 1.9...
I never went back after this album because their sound never really evolved, was happy with the two I had..

from the album, the second single, and my favourite track:

Natalie unplugged herself from the band after the recording of this album

my favorite song from the band
from the only album I really like, In My Tribe
lyrics are heart breaking

Linda,
my motto is "when on doubt, put it in alternative"
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.
