love the album, up there with his best IMO.
and im sure (well hoping anyway) he still has one 'great' album in him waiting to get written, but I wouldn't hold my breath over it.

I had the idea Warren Zevon was one of those people who, like Jimmy Webb, was basically a songwriter and only later on decided to try his hand at his own recordings. He wrote several hits for Linda Ronstadt.

Just been listening online to this - you'd swear this was a Brian Wilson song. It sounds more like the Beach Boys than the Beach Boys.
