I have some of his other stuff - love the Bakersfield sound. Not so sure about this one based on the Purple Rain cover, but maybe after I hear more of the rest of it.

ive just listened to the album, first album of his ive heard....

hated the Purple Rain cover but the rest of it was pretty good, as MH said, nice bluegrass element to the songs.

im going to have to check into his pretty big back catalogue a bit further based on this one album.

you gotta go early if you want the real country
he mellowed out over the years
in fact I would call this album one of those back to the roots deals

thank MH....

you must have read my mind because my next question was "where should I start if I want to go through his back catalogue?"

^^^ My most favorite song from his first album is "Miner's Prayer". I love to hear him sing it on his live album because its just him and his guitar there. My most favorite song from him period is "Long White Cadillac" which is from his album named Just Looking For A Hit and to me the only way to play that song from Dwight is loud!

God bless you and him always!!!

Holly
Listen to my most favorite singer here sometime, James Otto that is!

Geez, I have been thinking about Dwight. I thought something must have happened to him and it did.
Sorry don't care for this one. I like his older songs. Of course I do live in the past.
