Miss Fortune Wrote:Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse V Planned to read that one as well some time ago but the German translation is so unbelievably poor and I just couldn't be arsed to read it in English. Would it be worth the effort?

Miss Fortune Wrote:What To Eat - Marion Nestle Adding this title to the list. I've been onto this "eating" thing ever since reading Pollan's In Defense of Food.

"Slaughterhouse 5" is the only Vonnegut book I've read, but it's definitely a good one. I wouldn't say it was a great book, but it was a very funny read. Its comedy is absurdly satirical, much in the way that Dr. Strangelove is.... So if you like that sort of thing, you'd probably enjoy the book. The colloquialisms might make the English difficult, though.
