from the cd room
adapted from a short story
Pete was still dreaming his rock operas
this went to a stage play and then a movie
not sure of their success, flopped I would guess
Townshend only has a little over half of the lead vocals on here
Roger and John show up on a couple
John Lee Hooker, Nina Simone on some vocals
it charted at #58 here and strangely did not touch the UK chart
the single

I dont have that album, love that linked song though...
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.
There was a song from that project played a bit on radio here at the time, and it wasn't that one - pretty sure the word "friend" was in the title. It was similar in style to "I've Known No War", which I thought was the best song on The Who's "It's Hard" album.
Townshend, of course, had a habit of biting off (or dreaming) more than he could chew, such as the aborted Lifehouse project, many of the songs from which would end up on Who's Next.

from the cd room
his last solo album
and we have another concept
60's rocker burns out and turns to be an alcoholic recluse
only to be revived by a reporter posing as an obsessed fan
a lot of dialogue on here between and during songs
I see it was re-released without all that
it would be better than mine
this was the only single
