What Are You Listening To?
I agree bob_32....

East
is their best album by far....

as for AC/DC...I was never a fan during the Bon Scott years and Back In Black is by far their best album also....

back to Cold Chisel/Barnesy....
I think I have seven or eight of CC's albums on either cd or vinyl,
I also own at least half of Jimmy's on either cd or vinyl...

I only own three or four of AC/DC's albums, none from the Bon Scott years

Hallelujah! It’s about time there was some new music from Mr Knopfler. He and Evelyn Glennie have made the soundtrack for the movie Altamira. Definitely on both the ‘to purchase’ and ‘must see’ lists! Lovely, lovely stuff if this track is anything to go by … and he reinvents himself, once again -

The man is an enigma. He just never misses. And Evelyn is a master of her craft as well. A must-buy album.

A bit of classical tonight for a change...

Stravinsky - The Firebird/The Rite of Spring (played by the London Symphony orchestra)
Reply
Camel - Dust and Dreams - a musical interpretation of the classic John Steinbeck novel 'The Grapes of Wrath'. Mr Latimer's guitar work is just incredible.
'The purpose of life is a life of purpose' - Athena Orchard.
Reply
Rick Wright - Broken China - my favourite solo album from any of the Floyd members.

Steve Howe's Time. One of those where you can pick any track - they're all good. An instrumental album including a couple of adaptations/interpretations of classical pieces - Villa-Lobos, Bach, Vivaldi. All beautifully done - he's great.

DAVID BOWIE "space oddity" cd, 1969

career stats:
studio albums......................27
singles...............................121

this album................#17 UK...#21 AU...#13 CAN...#16 US
singles:
Space Oddity...........#1 UK...#9 AU...#15 US

David's second album....
notice the chart positions of the single above...
they were or when it was reissued ain 1973...
it scraped top20 in UK/AU in 1969 and didn't make the US top100back in '69...
I cant stand this album....
he hasn't really honed his craft/skills yet, still struggling to find his direction IMO...
some blues rock on here and a few hat sound like the single but are less melodic...
a disappointment from Bowie, but then again there are quite a few of his albums
that just don't cut it as far as complete albums go...

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

worst track: pick any one of eight!!!!
best track: Space Oddity
