Crowded House
#21
I heard the Finns say in an interview that one of their favourite songs is Lady Eleanor by Lindisfarne, which is one of mine too. I think Woodface (1991) is a very good album, containing Fall at your Feet, Weather with You and Four Seasons in One Day. It seems to me that Crowded House needed both Finn brothers.

Have to agree - 'Fall at your Feet' is just beyond brilliant. So true.
Better Be Home Soon - another classic - just love that organ in the song.
But the one that really does it for me is 'Into Temptation' - this one sparks some special memories for me. And yes, she really did have a blue dress.
And the feel good track is 'It's Only Natural' - just a great vibe.

I am going to be shot for this, but I consider them better than The Beatles. I am now going to run and hide before the forum members find me.

I thought the first album was excellent in parts but rather patchy, and I never warmed to Temple of Low Men, possibly because I cannot stand the closing track, Better be home Soon, which I think is one of the lamest songs they ever sang.

I think Woodface is where they really found their muse. Some of the best songs on that album are ones you never hear on radio.

Having said that, I think I like intriguer even better than Woodface. It just does not have any duds at all.

that's the cool thing about music...it means different things to different people...
I mean different songs mean different things to people...
I always thought "better be home soon" and "four seasons in one day" would have
been classic McCartney tunes had he written them which he very well could have if I
didn't know better.
as for Woodface....
I think Neil and Tim always did their best work when working together, again, the McCartney
name crops up as an example...he and John always worked better as a duo or when they were
in direct competition with each other.
