3.5 from allmusic
maybe a 1.2 from me
once again wanted to see what the buzz was
it was from a whole different hive
this is the bands 4th album
never dared to go back further
although I do have the next one

one of the tolerable:

yeh....
I find RHCP just too far out there for me sometimes.....
I suggest a compilation album MH....you cant go wrong with their singles IMO, and they made some very, very good singles over the years....
I think I have two studio albums, "stadium arcadium" comes to mind, and probably another one...theres filler on that one for sure from memory....

so yeah.....grab a compilation set, you wont be disappointed with it.

I have read vocalist Anthony's autobiography "scar tissue"....its a bloody good read, sometimes harrowing in regards to his drug addiction and his blood transfusions for his Hepatitis that he contracted during those heady drug fuelled early days....
if you can get that book cheap somewhere, its well worth it.

DROPKICK MURPHYS "the warrior's code" cd, 2005

career stats:
studio albums........8
singles.................24
"ep's"..................16

this album.............#48 US............#80 AU
singles:
"Tessie"..............................no chart action
"sunshine highway"..............no chart action
"the warrior's code"..............no chart action
"im shipping off to boston"....#101 US

fifth studio album by these Boston punk rockers.....
lots of Irish folk mixed with the punk sounds also, as in folk melodies, instruments mixed with the fist pumping hi-energy of 'real' punk rock....
there are a couple of folk covers on this one...."the green fields of france" written by Eric Bogle and "im shipping up to boston" written by Woodie Guthrie, I love the Bogle ballad but don't like their treatment of the Guthrie track....
in fact, I would have picked the Bogle track as best track had it not been a cover...but its still worth a listen if you've ever lost friends/family in war.....
if youre a fan of the "boston red-sox" you would also appreciate "Tessie"....
not really much difference between this one and the sounds on their other two albums I own....
still a good album if you like punk but not as good as their superb "goin' out in style" album which is up there with the greatest punk albums of all time...

follow up to the horrible Mother's Milk
this one is much easier to take for me
even a few love tracks
I had to have bought this one first then backtracked
probably Under The Bridge prompted me to by this
but Give It Away is my fav
it's all about that bass

his solo debut
love this album
I was a big VU fan so the transition went smooth for me
Bowie and Ronson co-produced
and I was a big Bowie fan
this album gave us Lou's signature song with Walk On The Wild Side
a classic

choosing this one to post
so I can dedicate it my buddy jazzbo

fantastic track MH.....

weird thing is, I own about ten of Reed's albums but I don't own Transformer...."New York" from the late 1980s is still my favourite though

overall, I think that as an artist he is overrated(influential certainly, but in his own right he doesn't live up to the hype overall)
and after seeing a lot of clips of him live, he aint no live performer neither(like Dylan, but not as bad!)

7th album, #41 US / #52 UK
follow up to that Metal Machine Music crap he put out
looking back, looks like his first 3 albums are all I love
after that he must have stopped taking drugs
