Jerome Wrote:One of my favourite live albums - the inimitable Joe Walsh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ncj6R8dr...hwwR6UlJ7P What I've always liked about Joe Walsh was his sense of humor, frequently turning it on himself. Plus he's homelier than I am...and that ain't easy...

Perpetually listening to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on headphones! Ringo's drumming is very impressive, you can really appreciate it on headphones!

I agree - the funny man of rock. But a damn fine guitarist too!

Thanks to Steve Hogarth having a birthday yesterday, Iâve been listening to The Ghosts of Pripyat, a solo album by the very backbone of Marillion, Steve Rothery (with guest appearances by Steve Hackett and Steven Wilson). There is obviously something about Steven â a good name for guitarists, apparently!
This is an instrumental concept album based on the evacuation and abandonment of the city of Pripyat after the Chernobyl disaster. Chilling and haunting stuff - look up the pics some time â frightening the extent to which we have the ability to lay waste to our planet; our home! I donât know how he did it, but even had I not known of the subject matter, the music is so evocative it would tell its own story. Takes a while to absorb the entire album, and there are clear favourites amongst some reviewers, but one track that stays with me is âWhite Passâ.

Great recommendation Ruby. Will be buying this one. Have you ever seen the official video for 'Marooned' by Pink Floyd. It was shot in Pripyat as well.

The Who - Who's Next - Deluxe Edition. This is a fantastic album. I really don't need to hear alternative mixes and all the other crap that is added to these 'deluxe' versions. The final product they released all those years ago was just perfect the way it was. I really don't want to hear the warm-up versions of these classic tracks.
