After he left Deep Purple Ian Gillan formed the Ian Gillan band which was totally different to Deep Purple and to the later (Gillan) the Ian Gillan band was a jazz rock fusion band ,they produced child in time,clear air turbulence ,scarabus and live at the bhudokhan which shows how versatile Ian Gillan is as a musician ,vocalist and writer.[video=youtube_share;5WYg5hRZM_I]http://youtu.be/5WYg5hRZM_I[/video]

yes I saw him live at the Marquee in London in 1991 and his voice was even better than on the records, (a silver throated screaming vocalist)

yes on those (ian gillan band) albums it was tight jazz/rock/fusion ensemble
