Hey there, so I just introduced myself, but to keep it brief, a few buddies of mine and I are working on a "dramatic race" view, something funny.
I was thinking of using power ballad type songs because I saw this one vine on the net with the Whitney Houston song "I will always love you" (with the kid in cones on top of a car), and thought it was hilarious.
I was wondering if anyone knew any good power ballad type songs, preferably by women, I could use? Songs similar to ones like, Eternal Flame, by The Bangles. I love the whole, gated snare drum reverb, I think it's so over the top and perfect for the type of thing I am doing. Plus they can actually help me sleep.
Thanks!

Bonnie Tyler's "total eclipse of the heart" is a classic power ballad, written by Jim Steinman of "bat out of hell" fame...

I don't know if some of the songs mentioned here can be classified as 'ballads' but I get the general idea. Try 'Voice of America' by Asia. I would not call it a ballad as such but it seems to fit with all the other suggestions mentioned. And power it certainly has - a lot of it.

What? Comfortably Numb's not a power ballad?
