Okay, in my opinion their music is much more better than that Justin Bieber or music that is in the Billboard right now. I think their music is like the zenith of true creativity. I think they made the best brand of music in the 2000's the same with Linkin Park and Evanescence. Their lyrics are also well - written. I am wondering why they are not famous because their art or music should not remain underground. I am aware they don't adhere to basic song structures. Their single song can last up to 10 - 17 minutes long and they growl more than actual singing. But that should not be the reason or factor that they are not hitting No. 1 in the charts. They deserve more than that.
This band is not making mostly through - composed randomness and growling and screaming all the time. They actually created music that is actually beautiful and fantastic to listen to. Check out this links and you'll see what I mean.

I recently discovered Between the Buried and Me (the band name intrigued me)...and they are very good! The masses or general public will not like death growls period. A lot of the public music fans like snappy short dance melodies with no substance behind the music! The music is here today and gone tomorrow. The major record labels adhere to this money making demand and create pop idols like the Beeb! There are virtually thousands and thousands of artists out there today in various valid and ridiculous genres! I have a roving ear and like a lot of different music from Lady GaGa to Opeth to Between the Buried and Me! If you like it listen to it Blanche. I hope you post more comments on MD and welcome aboard! I find that a lot of the underground or let's just say...non top 40 music is "fun" to listen to...it is unpredictable, intelligent, and an adventure! The grunts and groans add to the concept or overall atmosphere of the music. To tell you the honest truth I can't understand the lyrics but I love the SOUND as it complements the music! I know how you feel with regards to it not attaining the same status as the number one hits! Don't let it bother you! There are music lovers out there that like the music you do. You've already found a kindred music spirit on MD...me!...lol.
