I think Jerome is quite right flowerBree 3 times have changed you can push and shove as much as you want but he market has changed and what is not there is not there. I have several friends who have been in the music business for over 35 years ...............They say it is not what it was mp3s and their sharing made sure that the world changed......now there is only money for big bands in recorded media .........the main money is in touring and franchising and that is how the world is I'm afraid no amount of wishing will change that.
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

I think that for most musicians, music is going to become a hobby that you pursue while you make a living from your day job. But there is an upside to all of this. Studios are basically no longer neccessary unless you are recording a large orchestra or something along those lines. The technology that is taking away the sales is the same one that is making it easier for people to produce their own stuff. Swings and roundabouts. Live music is still a money machine though. And a very profitable one too. Even friends of mine who are classically trained virtuosos are finding it hard to make a living. There are an awful lot of studios standing empty all over the world. Studios that cost an absolute fortune to build. It's quite a sad situation. The only thing that is goiong to turn it around is an absolute foolproof copy protection system. And in the digital domain that is pure fantasy. It does not, nor ever will, exist.
Remember Lennon's statement (and I might not have this perfectly accurate) He said 'Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans' Clever man.

What is more important - to play something worthwhile, that like units or betray himself by playing pop for the sake of money?
