The fouth Magna Carta studio album, which, was strangely written and recorded whilst the chief song writer was outside his native Yorkshire. The band was enjoying strong support both at live concerts (albeit not always in England) and in the press and were that time one of Vertigo’s biggest acts.
The band at this time consisted of Chris Simpson, Glen Stuart and Stan Gordon. Between them they captured the moment that English folk music married gentle progressive.
When this album was first released it sales were only slow and it is only throughout the years that the momentum has appeared to propel it into the realms of a gold record.
This record does not have its greatest sales in its native land ………instead it’s gross comes from places like Holland , South Africa and Spain.
However such a diverse path cannot dent the metal of a true classic ad it stands today as a monument to the birth of progressive folk music
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe )

Unfortunately, I've never heard it. Therefore, I can't endorse it...

I think that this suggests that we are moving along in the correct direction with this section on classic albums .............I hoped that as time went on people would come in and add to the totals and move the situation along giving us a wider range and a greater achievement levels for the ones already in there.
THis particular album represents the tip of the ice burg................There are lots of "lost" classic albums out there that deserve to be recognized and added to the collection in here .............................The major issue is that the are "lost" and hat by definition mean s that they will not be widely listened to or that easy to obtain......................Lord Of The Ages is nearly impossible to find clips of on youtube since Universal records started to delete anything that it felt it owned the copyright to....................Some of these "lost" classics have only seen the light of day on specialist CD labels .............I would give the example of " From Home to Home" By Fairfield Parlour which has only ever had limited reissue on Repertoire records or as a very expensive vinyl album but is an absolute joy .......................so maybe we have to try to rethink how we can get thse albums into the sytem along side the big sellers and well known things ..................
I wonder if there is any mileage in a using a " Wild Card " system where certain conditions of entry could be waved if , it as felt that it was appropriate, under agreed circumstances ................????????????

I think a relatively slow response has deterred me from posting any of the less popular albums I consider as classics. Maybe we need more of these to be nominated, then to just wait & see.
I'll stick a couple of lesser classics up this weekend if I can squeeze it in.
