Copland + Bernstein
#1
Two of my favorite composers of "classical" music in the 20th century were Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein. "Appalachian Spring" by Copland is a marvelous tone poem while Bernstein's "Fancy Free" is my favorite for it's intricacies.

I had the good fortune to attend a performance by the New York Philharmonic in the early 1980s of Bernstein conducting Copland and in my opinion, nobody conducted and interpreted Copland better than Bernstein.

Thoughts? Does anyone even REMEMBER these two guys?  Big Grin

Most people these days haven't explored classical music, so you're in good company, LOL!
