there are several ways for me to look at this album.
1: is it respectful of his 'legacy'?
2: will it bring new fans into the fold with the mix of younger artists on here?
3: are the Presley remixes worth it?
4: are the Presley originals the right ones for the album?

lets go...
the main star of the movie, Austin Butler sings in the movie and thus gets several tunes on here, they are worthy of inclusion.
there are other stars both young and seasoned who cover Presley songs and for the most part they are respectable of his legacy.
several remixes also, and although im a huge fan of Presley i see these as the way forward and not blasphemy.
there are a few penned tunes that were written for the movie and performed in the background, not sure these were necessary.
the biggest and brightest light for me from these tracks is a female artist called Shonka Dukureh whom i can not find any info on but she plays Big Mama Thornton in the movie and belts out her 1930's song Hound Dog and she absolutely nails it IMO.
another great performance is from a guy called Les Greene who belts out Little Richard's Tutti Fruiti and i gotta say you would swear it was Little Richard if you didnt know better.

all up i really like this album.

my pick of Presley covers is this one by stevie Nicks and Chris Isaak
