NEIL YOUNG & PROMISE OF THE REAL  "the visitor"

Spotify listen:

second studio album featuring NY with POTR...
POTR are Lukas and Mikah Nelson, sons of Willie....
Neil is back on his environmental soapbox again....
some songs are almost grungy, but not as heavy as his stuff with CH...
im hearing "Greendale" on some tracks....
a couple of acoustic tracks on here also...
theyre not bad...
im hearing little bits of other past NY tracks on these, whether its a riff or
a line here and there, its there....
the album is passable on a first up listen, doubt it would grow any further with repeat listens though...
its almost one dimensional, two dimensional at a stretch...
i'll wait till it is on special or in a discount bin to purchase it...

the singles have already been posted, nothing else available...
favourite tracks are the two acoustic ones "forever" and "almost always" FYI...

entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart last month at #167

a few throw aways but better than expected
slower tracks are best
was dreading that 10 minute track but it was my second fav

standout for me

as a footnote MH....

only two of NY's studio albums never made the US top 100 albums chart they are....this one and his self titled debut from 1969,
that's a pretty impressive statistic IMO

do you think its definitely time both he and Mr Dylan give it up now?

Dylan can still surprise from time to time - Neil's not done yet.

yeah i now agree Jerome, i went to bed and thought to myself, Neil still has one great album in him, if only he'd take his time instead of rushing the process...

with Dylan, his last album of original material, Tempest, was very good IMO, who knows, maybe he's got one waiting to be written also.
