As I've said before, I take a dim view of duet albums--they along with "Best-Ofs" and "Live" CDs are usually a weak temporizing gesture 'til the artist stumps up new product. This however is 1) Van freakin' Morrison who has nothing to prove to anybody; and 2) he's exploring the lesser-known of his catalog; and 3) the tunes, arrangements and partners are well-matched. No hype in the marketing--it's all there, and the reviews agree:

This flows so well together, I'm putting up the whole album:

Tell you the truth, I had qualms about putting the whole deal up because it's a new album. I'm inspired by the hope that folks do buy it (for themselves--for the richness and dynamics that YouTube even HD, can strip away, that even DAP/amp units can't restore). Actually that's the thought w/any artist I post; it just has more impact when I can be seen to pick the artist's pocket. Wait a month 'til used hits the secondary market--all my misgivings vanish then...but I couldn't wait to put up.

An impressive list of accompanying artists. Glad to see that the usual suspects.. Brown Eyed Girl, Tupelo Honey, Domino, Wild Night, Moondance, Into the Mystic....do not appear. He has released so many great albums/songs over his career...It's Too Late To Stop Now...is a great live album that I go to from time to time. Van has incorporated various styles in his music defining him as the complete artist!
The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!
