Just back from a pub lunch I had today. Was reading the Irish Independent and they had two articles I was interested in. One was about the Amy Winehouse movie, and the second was about a forthcoming Grateful Dead (never been a fan) boxset to be released in September. 700USD for the set and it contains EIGHTY discs. Just a heads up for all you Deadheads out there.

.....and Grateful Dead could release another fifty boxset like the one you have mentioned as they recorded every live gig they performed

so, who will play Amy in the movie....?

It's a documentary apparently.

Yes it is.: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2870648/ I pronounce her name as "Ah my" as in "Ah my--what huge talent wasted." Maybe a level or 2 under Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison but still... Here's the movie Site--click "Enter" to hear a song and/or post a comment.: http://www.amy-movie.com/

Gee, I don't know. Helen Mirren maybe--she does every other British female so well.

100% with you on that. I've liked a bit of their stuff including covers but to build a life around them? "What happened to your set-aside ambitions?" would be the question I'd ask theses starry-eyed lessers. "...And I'm guessing you don't have rock-solid memories of all these occasions." Living in the moment is swell but it does have long-term negative implications, as any coke-head will tell you.

Back to Amy Winehouse....
She was up there with the best soul/R+B vocalists IMO....
Damn shame she had a self-destructive personality with her addictions....
"back to black" is probably the best studio album released I. The last couple of decades.

She always looked like a cheap-ten cent hooker to me so maybe a drag queen could play her role in the doco....
Or alternatively, going out on a limb here....maybe Johnny Depp could portray her????
