Yoko Ono.............................Run, Run, Run/Men, Men, Men
Yoko’s forth Apple single.

APPLE 49
The last official Apple single came from Badfinger.
Badfinger............................Apple Of My Eye/Blind Owl
By now Apple was just a shadow of what it started out to be and this release slipped out almost unnoticed. Ham wrote the song about his mixed feelings upon the band's leaving Apple Records (which was the "apple of my eye" to Ham) to pursue a larger contract by moving to Warner Bros. Records.[1] The same concern is reflected on the Ass album cover, which shows a donkey following a carrot into the distance.
In most countries, Tom Evans' "Blind Owl" was released as the B-side. However, in Japan, "Apple of My Eye" was backed with Mike Gibbins' song "Cowboy", and in the Philippines, Evans' "When I Say" was the B-side.

Beatle involvement : None
So the end of the road??

THE APPLES SERIES

Apple had a short lived 1000 series

There were only two official releases on this

APPLE 1001

Cold Turkey/Don’t Worry Kyoko …………………………Plastic Ono Band

This bears the logo PLAY LOUD IN 24 Point Type in the middle of the A side and PLAY QUIET on the B Side……………..
This is Beatle track that John could not persuade the Beatles to record.

APPLE 1002

What’s The News Mary Jane/ You Know My Name………………..Plastic Ono Band

This is one of the most famous unreleased tracks
It contains John , George and Yoko

The B side features Brian Jones From the Stones on the B side

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixKCfJhW_...E2&index=8

Original copies of The Beatles Let It BE show APPLES 1002 scratched in the run off showing that this did exist.

Personal note…………….It does exist I have a copy on an Apple acetate which I bough for around 30 UK pence in a second hand shop in Doncaster and I wrote a small article in Record collector about it

APPLES 1003

Instant Karma/ Who has Seen The Wind…………………………..Plastic Ono Band

There is one interesting fact here:

The UK mix on 1003 is produced by John and has a completely different feel to the US release produced by Phil Spector

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqP3wT5lpa4

APPLES 1004

This was scheduled………………..more is unkown.

One further note:
The Apple story is complex and there are many stories of cancelled or possible releases on Apple:IN there days Apple had access to the latest technologies in record production via The Beatles and EMI
Apple had the ability to cut custom label acetates and this has been used by many parties in London from 1968 nto around 1974…………..Each one has a full Apple custom label on it and was this was an available service for a fee. I have seen many of these including one For The Who……………it has lead to claims that many artists were considered for releases on Apple which largely is not true .

Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.
