Quatermass by Quatermass
#1
This band only made one album which was released in 1970 then all of the members went in different directions notably pete robinson who joined brand x and john gustaffson who joined roxy music,I dont know what happened to Mick Underwood.
This album was organ based rock with some jazz inflections as good as elp or the nice its a shame it ended there.

As an add on I only discovered quatermass because i got a copy of a compilation called harvest heritage greatest hits and black sheep of the familly was on it . then about a year later Iwas listening to the friday rock show which that week was hosted by Ian Gillan because Tommy Vance was unavailable , and he played the track gemini which had a fantastic organ solo on it .and after that i hunted the record down for several years until I found a copy in a second hand record shop. i couldnt believe my luck, what an album

Welcome aboard MD, Rusty ! I never thought I'd see Quartermass mentioned ...this MD is truly universal !!!! I bought the album on vinyl many moons ago ...very eccentric for the time and very cool !,,,thanks for the citation.
