This release hasn't received a whole lot of attention in the mainstream, from what I can see. It caught my eye because of the name Kooymans - wondered if it was George, formerly of Golden Earring, and indeed it is.
My attention waned after the first four tracks, sadly. One of those which starts off with some promise but which eventually just peters out. GK channeling his inner Bob in places, it seems. Nothing offensive on the album but nothing hugely noteworthy either. Sounds as though it's a bit of an indulgence on their part which is fair enough if one has the luxury of doing that, and earned it! Frank Carillo is an American muso about whom I know diddly - not feeling inclined to remedy my ignorance at this stage! Best was the title track IMHO, tinned drums n all,
and I'm puzzled by that, because it's not the case all the way through - anyway - who can tell the whys and wherefores?!! Ok - there was another decent track, or two, LOL ...
Title track ...
"Living Now" ...
Well alright - there's a third ... "Christmas in Gaza" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBb1YYVxkeQ - interesting instrument on this one ... a laúd - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La%C3%BAd - and even a fourth! The bonus track - what is that anyway? It's on the album so why is it a bonus?? "Seasons" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPtS1ttU2Yo
