YouTube listen:
seventeenth album...
first one since the death of his son...
I listened on YT because I wanted the lyric videos to read the lyrics...
didn't like his last two (push the sky away/skeleton tree) so I wasn't expecting much here...
but ive got to say...
f@ck me!, this is an absolute masterpiece, possibly the best album of his career...
it sounds very solomn and sombre, almost angelic and ethereal..
the songs are directly related to the passing of his son..
I think this is one of those albums that needs to be listened to in its entirety as a complete work...
hearing Cohen's"you want it darker", and Bowie's "Blackstar" all over this one...
probably my album of the year...
MH and Ruby, give this one a listen: Jerome too may appreciate it...

^I started listening to the album yesterday morning - it's definitely a lament. Made me want to weep, which I suppose is not a bad thing, but I had to stop. Will tackle it again sometime. Not a fan of everything he's done but he's had his moments!

Has been number one for awhile on the Goth music charts !!!! Music has to be rated with the appropriate genre in mind !
