Catch 22 is another Ska band that was actually an earlier version of Streetlight...SM even came out with an entire CD of Catch 22 covers. Reel Big Fish and Mighty Mighty Bosstones are great, too.

Trumpton Riots did the best job of explaining it; but in short, ska is usually primarily either punk or reggae music that has a horns section to add a different element. It tends to sound more upbeat, but can be manipulated in a lot of unique ways.

That's not right.
Trumptons first paragraph is on the button. Ska was music that originated in Jamaica, and then evolved into Reggae. Also, Reggae bands tended to have brass sections anyway.
Anything involving Reggae or Punk is only a derivative.
