Lin-Manuel Miranda took to the Oscars 2017 stage followed by Auli’i Cravalho, the voice and singer of Moana, for a stirring performance as they sang “How Far I'll Go.” The song is one of the five nominees for Music (Original Song) at the 2017 Oscars. Dwayne Johnson, who voices Maui in the film, introduced the segment, but not before giving us a sample of his own musical talent. The real star of the moment, however, was Auli’i Cravalho, who held the crowd spellbound as a flurry of blue flags waved beautifully in the background.
Ultimately, Justin Hurwitz (who also won the Oscar for Music (Original Score) for LA LA LAND)and lyricists Benj Pasek and Justin Paul won the 2017 Oscar for Music (Original Song).
