whats your opinion on foxboro hot tubs

i just discovered them but apparentley they older than i thought so what do you think of them

I'd never heard of them, so have had to investigate (as you do !!).

I quite like the sound of them. There seems to be a bit of a nostalgic resurgence among rock bands at the mo, which is probably no bad thing if it can draw people into investigating some of the great music of the past.

I did some research. They are not older, their debut album came out this year. Apparently Foxboro Hot Tubs is a side project of Green Day. According to allmusic.com their debut album pays homage to the garage rock of the 60's:

...the band consciously rewrites classic after classic here, basing "Sally" on "I'm Not Your Stepping Stone," "Alligator" on "You Really Got Me," "Dark Side of Night" on "Heart Full of Soul," "Red Tide" on "Tired of Waiting for You," or opening "27th Ave. Shuffle" with the same blast of guitars-and-drums as the Who's "Run Run Run."
