HUMAN LEAGUE  'dare'  cd/vinyl  1981

a revisit
their third of nine studio albums
and its the only one i own
not a huge fan of the electro-pop sounds of the 1980s because they generally sound sterile and dated.
this one sounds fresh and melodic just like it did upon original release
several million selling single from this one but my favourite was only released in South Africa as a single,
album scores a decent 2.5 which means
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

PAUL McCARTNEY  "liverpool sound collage"  cd  2000

his twenty-nineth of forty post-Beatle studio releases.
i own thirty-nine, theres one remix/collab album i do not have called "twin freaks"
this one features Youth, Super Furry Animals, Beatles ans artist Peter Blake on here
its avant-garde, arty, spoken word, sampled, baroque sound collage, i think you get the idea...
not really my thing but it forms part of who he is
pretty hard to score because i wouldnt know where to start, the only thing im sure of though is...
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

this one has some cool pieces but its still not very good sadly:
at around the 6 minute mark there are samples of the Beatles voices though

Cannot make sense of this one at all. Seems to lack any sense of direction. Just bits stuck together at random. Even famous musicians screw up from time to time it seems.

if you think you couldnt make sense of that then you need to listen to his "strawberries, oceans, ships, forest" and "rushes" albums under the name The Fireman,
see how far you get in to those two LOL

his second of four under the Fatboy name, i own two
thirteen career albums in total, i own four...
techno/house stuff
numerous sampling throughout
lots of monotonous beats and vocal samples
some tracks are still pretty cool though
overall, not as good as i remembered it but still okay
album scores 1.8 from me which means
I LIKE THIS ALBUM

favourite is still this one:

"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight

NEIL YOUNG "trans"  cd  1983

a revisit
well this album sounds a lot better than most of the new release crap i try to listen to...
if youve never heard it and wonder why it is in electronic, heres why...
for the most part it sounds like Gary Numan/Tubeway Army meets Daft Punk
yup, Neil goes all vocorder and synth on us on six of the nine tracks
the other three tracks are very good but alas, the remainder lets this one down dreadfully
album scores 1.4 on this occasion which means
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

favourite:

"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.
