The Dualers Live Last Night
#1
Went to see The Dualers last night at a local club.

They're a Ska band from South London, who have built up a large following by hard gigging, and by busking in local towns. Mrs Tiggi discovered them busking in Canterbury, and we checked them out on the net. Saw them live in London three years ago, and had to go along when they played our home town.

Originally formed around the two brothers Tyber, & Simon Cranstoun - hence the band name - with Tyber now heading things up. He's a hugely charismatic frontman, and has surrounded himself with a crack 8-piece band. Great band who probably won't ever see massive success due to their championing of a relatively minority musical genre, and that's a shame.

A video clip of their signature song:

Very goog gig, Tracy.

Best live band (aside from Roger Waters) I've seen for ages.

It was part of an annual Ska festival in Folkestone which started last year, I think.

I finally got this in the post today !!!! My first play on the iPod !!!!....... sounds incredible !!!!

I opted for the Complete live recordings as it's a double album and at a good price. It was a reissue in 2002 as a supplement to the single album from 1984.

Get Up, Stand Up; African; Rastafari Is; Equal Rights/Downpressor Man;Pick Myself Up; Bush Doctor;Mama Africa are highlights by the legendary reggae ska soul mate of Bob Marley.

Great no nonsense straight ahead reggae that only Peter Tosh can deliver. A great loss when he left us too soon at ony 42 !

(Originally Recommended by MD's Tiggi !)

I love this album - rating 5/5[URL="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B000062URG/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=5174&s=music"]

^ Wonderful album, Steve.

I think this album in particular challenges Bob Marley's position as Reggae head honcho...

Maybe Tosh didn't write quite as many classics as Bob, but he certainly wrote some brilliant tunes.

Yes indeed Tiggi ! He was also quite a guitar player and comfortable with the acoustic guitar from what I've read !
