CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL a.k.a CCR "willie and the poor boys",cd. 1970.

CCR were at the top of their game in 1970,releasing two classic albums..."cosmo's factory" and this one.
there is the classic single "down on the corner", two covers(cotton fields & midnight special),both of which have been overhauled to sound like true CCR songs, then there is the brilliant "fortunate son" in which Fogerty is at his angriest best
describing how so many 'fortunate sons' from prominant families managed to escape the 'nam' draft, the album ends with another highly charged political song entitled "effigy" which is a perfectly haunting way to finish a near perfect album.
all in all one of the most concise, clear political and socially aware albums of the period

Crazy,

Creedence Clearwater Revival were always consistent in that they released very good albums with very good original classic songs on every album ! Also when John Fogerty went on his own he managed to continue with that same CCR formula. It's like listening to new CCR material when you listen to John !
The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!
