MAGNUM ~ Here Comes the Rain

It’s rock - AOR. Amen. Nothing dreadful on the album, maaaaybe one or two that will linger on in the ol' auditory cortex. I doubt there will be another Magnum release since Tony Clarkin was the main protagonist and he’s gone to the great gig in the sky - R.I.P. He was the writer, producer and lead guitarist while the other longstanding member, Bob Catley, took vocal duties.

I thought the album was ok – not pretending to be anything other than the unapologetic rock it is, which is actually a bit of a relief – to me! Reading through a list of new album releases is nothing short of daunting – I barely know any of the names, nor do I care to investigate most of them. I think I prefer to spend my time filling in the gaps in my hearing of the tried and trusted tbh!

This band has had a loyal fanbase over the years (52 to be precise, if you include a hiatus from 1996 to 2000), and has toured and played live extensively, which is great – how else does anyone who is not a superstar in this biz make any money? Consistency in delivery plays a large role I’d say. It’s evident that care has been taken with the production and packaging which is always nice to see.

A few of the tracks stood out more than others – this was one such …

Can't say I am a fan of the music but the cover is interesting - like the pointing finger. Don't have a clue what it means but I am sure it means something!
