JOHN OATES "Arkansas"
Spotify Listen:
Dani and I were watching a retro music show on the tv the other day and Hall & Oates came on
with a couple of their old songs...
we both agreed without hesitation that we couldn't stand their songs then and we cant
stand them now...
anyway, this album came u for a listen, I was dreading it being the Oates of Hall And Oates
but I needn't have worried...yes it is that Oates but this album is a million miles from the
sucrose pop they spewed out back in the 70s-80s, this is bluegrass and folky...
lots of fingerpickin' on here, a couple of genuine blues numbers album...
a surprisingly good album from an artist I regularly switch radio channels on when he is played!
from the album, the stand out track for me...
also happens to be the single from it:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.
