IAN ANDERSON "thick as a brick 2"

yeh i know...its been released for a month already, but seeing as ive just got
round to hearing it after purchasing it last week, i thought i best give my initial thoughts on
it now....
now, ive only just recently been indoctrinated by the genius that is Jethro Tull, and have never heard
"thick as a brick" from 1972, but thanks to Anderson's linear notes on the booklet inside the disc set i have a
bit of knowledge about that concept album...
anyway, TAAB2 follows on from the central character from TAAB,Gerald Bostock's story.
this time however, Anderson has given us the possible scenario's of Gerald's life some forty years down the
track....
Anderson ponders the possibilities of whether he became a banker,a homeless guy, a millitary man, a chorister or even
an ordinary guy doing a 9-5 job.
the album weaves through these various scenario's and ebbs and flows through classic original sounding Jethro Tull
sounds....its all here, folky melodies through prog rock and everything inbetween...this album would appear
to be not out of context with anything he has previously done....

my initial score for this one would be 1.8, that may well have been higher had i had the original TAAB album to compare to.
