I agree Jerome, most (barring the young MD members for the most part) will just grab "the latest" sensation in music and then delete it later for the new kid on the block. I worked with 30 people or more at times during my career and I found this was the case with them....listening to the "latest band or artist" ...I only knew ONE coworker who would dabble in all music of all times and I have a few close friends who go back to the classics and are into all sorts of music.
I watched the X Factor this week (yes I appreciate ALL music amateur or otherwise) and this Josh dude sang a very moving rendition of the Beatles' Something ....there's a song that has been around for 42 years or so !!!...I wonder why ????....the Classics still are prominent 50 years later ?,,,why...I digress a bit, sorry.

A computer repair tech I know told me a distressing fact....McAffee, Norton, etc..know how to eliminate hackers and viruses but choose not to as it would obviously put them out of business !!!!!!...just a remark he made in passing...don't know his source ???

Whew, my music collection.... uh, let's see... lots of blues, rock and Zappa. My short answer is my Pandora stations consist of B.B. King, Joe Bonamassa, Classic Rock, Frank Zappa and Joe Satriani.

My collection is almost exclusively physical albums - Vinyl & CDs are the majority. I don't tend to buy too many digital releases (insert iTunes here) but have found that I do like to get the "digital only" releases from performers I like or the wildly out-of-print titles (you know the albums that were very limited in production and those who are willing to sell it want big money for them).
I have a large mp3 library of music that I have in physical form (ripped them to mp3 from CD & Vinyl) and use that to load the player on the puter for listening. It also helps me fill the personal players my family uses. I also make mixed CDs for listening to in my vehicles, though I don't tend to value/like them as much as the old mixed tapes I made. The process of picking the next song has become too easy and I don't get the same flow I used to when I was recording tapes for my listening where each song had to flow/work into the next song.

Largely it is on silver discs ......................There is some vinyl , some mp3 and some DVD content recorded things are on mini discs....................

I've got a box of vinyl that I never play anymore. I've got three racks of CDs that I only get out to resample if an MP3 develops a glitch. I'm not sure how much of my collection is downloaded mp3s but its probably getting close to 50% if it isn't already more than that.
