Hi all,
Hope you are all well?
Just a short request, Basically i am planning to go as many festivals as possible next year. however there are four that have been flagged to me as excellent and "must go" events, these are:
Glasto
Itunes festival
Big Chill
What do you lot think of them? good, bad, poor or "omg you've missed"!?
So simple question really, i have never been to a music festival (i know how bad is that!) and i want to change this. Can any of you wonderful people give me any good advice on festival going, what to take, what not to take, etc. Also feel free to recomend some festivals or gigs you think are legendary and by all means please feel free regale me with the finest of tales from your own experiances.
Cheers for any advice,
Syn

I've been to plenty of one-day outdoor gigs, but never to a multi-day festival. There are now so many in the UK that it's a case of picking the bill that suits your tastes.
Glastonbury has to be top of the list IMV, but don't have any tips I'm afraid. Good luck with it...

I am with you Crazy-Horse. I look at the acts performing and base my decision almost entirely on that. Cost plays into it as well.

Living in Texas a music festival is almost always only a short drive away. I've been to many all over the state but being only 70 miles from Austin SXSW is the apex for me. If you've never heard of it it is every March with films, interactive and music from all over the world.

Me three, I am planning on going to a festival this year but it's only because I want to see a particular band and few others are a nice bonus.

Syn,
I have only gone to an all day concert featuring a few bands a few times . So I am not an expert on this but I know one thing try if possible to take your own food !!!! The concession stand prices are murder at a concert !!!!
Also if you really want to see a specific group go for it !
