JEFFERSON AIRPLANE - Surrealistic Pillow (released February 1967)
I can't imagine that it's been over forty-four years since this album's release ! Two classic rock songs are featured here -
Somebody to Love and White Rabbit !
Tracks:
Side One
She Has Funny Cars, Somebody To Love, My Best Friend, Today, Comin' Back To Me
Side Two
3/5 Mile In Ten Seconds, D.C.B.A. - 25, How Do You Feel, Embryonic Journey. White Rabbit, Plastic Fantastic Lover
PERSONNEL:
This was one of the first major psychedelic folk rock albums led by the beautiful (every guy had a crush on her) Grace Slick on vocals and the ingenuous guitar interplay of Marty Balin and Jorma Kaukonen.
The album for the most part is low key and laid back in nature. The mood in a sense reminds me of the Doors debut album and Velevet Underground & Nico,
All the songs are good and Somebody to Love along with White Rabbit are Rock Classics.
MY RATING - 5/5 (ALL MUSIC rating 5/5)

I love this album. I don't think I own it anymore. I need to fix that.

I'll vote this one in too which puts it in with a bronze award!
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe )
