He would be a good nominee for the hall of fame and The Beginners Guide...wouldn't he ???? I don't see why the Live set wouldn't be a great intro to Coltrane !!!! Free improv like his studio albums ...???? and more intense instead of studio album restrictions even with free jazz ! The live set really demonstrates his talent to the max !

if you understand the point of "a love supreme" and the following records you may feel the spiritual connections that
he's trying to show by his way of playing on those records...or you might just listen to "coltrane plays the blues" wich
i still love the most ...

john coltrane and johnny hartman recorded a album together under that name which was the only time coltrane recorded with a vocalist which is considered a classic...besides those two mccoy tyner,elvin jones and jimmy garrison are in the band...if you can't wrap your head around a love supreme this could be a good primer
