well, i wouldnt go there...thankfully i got out of the Navy just prior to 1991 Gulf War,
but hey,thats me!??
i cant believe that our Labour Govt is supporting the air strikes, especially since they're running the country with the help of the do-gooder, hippy Greenies!!!
...but the U.N had to do something, im behind them the whole way with what they're doing, unfortunately there will be some innocent civillians caught in the crossfire but not as many as Gadaffi has been killing so the cost will be worth it in the longrun for the people of Libya.
our John Howard would have sent some of our Air Force in if he was in power...he should still be running our country.

double LOL MH!!!
i missunderstood the "i'd go there" quote.
Johnny Howard was "the man"...we survived the so-called global financial crisis thanks to his policies, probably the only western country to do so.

I find it quite amusing to see our UK politicians frothing at the mouth over someone they were seeking to cosy up to only a few weeks ago.
Peace-keeping efforts are fine by me, so I'm glad this coalition has stepped up to the mark. They need, however, to keep within their UN mandate...

Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe )

The scenes are the same - it's only the theatre that changes.

I did two years of Officers Training (and a Political Science Major in University), and every male in my family has been in the United States military for the past 100 years. I absolutely despise peace keeping operations, and the current state of the U.S. :/. I have been called Constitutional, and I'm a member of the Constitution party in the U.S. lol
The reason I didn't join the Army is because I didn't want to be put into situations our troops are these days, I feel for everyone of them. My dad was in Kosovo(and many other countries) USAF Spec Ops(22 years), and my brother was in Afghanistan,Iraq, and several South American countries as USAF Spec Ops. My brother's tour ended at 18 years in the USAF just recently. I can not wrap my head around the idea of a military force being used for police duties, it just doesn't end well for anybody.
Away from my rant about the military, I think any actions towards removing Gadhafi are not so good. Several spokesmen for the rebellion in Libya have already said that The Muslim Brotherhood plans on trying to take control if Gadhafi is removed. And for my people, that's not a great idea. Call me paranoid, call me a racist, I've been far to many places in my 20 years of life to be uneducated about the subject.
