It's the strangest elation

Same from me. I hope all our lovely members have a great Xmas, and that the break is all you all hope for.

....and Music Head is correct, think about the 'true' meaning of Christmas.

I think MD is right about not forgetting the true meaning of Christmas and I would support him in all his thoughts there
However, the Christians do not have an exclusive license on Christmas............They simply hijacked, the Pagen festivals of Mid-winter and put their Christian ones on top of them to try and stamp out the old Pagen ways............
Many of the "Christian" traditions and Hymns reflect this .........For example The Holly and The Ivy are actually symbols of the Pagen Festivals ...................
The ideas of Mistletoe at Christmas goes back to again ideas of bringing back the fertility of the Earth associated with Summer.

Nice gryphon, you also beat me to it. Merry xmas to all the fellow music junkies on here!
My few cents: I think Christmas is most important in the sense that it brings you together to spend time with your family; in my case a lot of family members whom I don't see at any other time of the year

Have already been to Mass, the graveyard and a couple of relatives' houses. Quick break now before we go over to another relative's for Christmas dinner.
We went to a nearby monastery for Mass rather than our usual chapel. It was the children's Mass and they ask the kids to hold up their toys to be blessed and it was just a sea of mobile phones and computer games with the odd disgruntled looking child with a cuddly toy! Dear God please bless this "Call of Duty Black Ops".
Christmas is great and still a Dr Who Christmas special to come!
